YVR West Apron Expansion Site Preparation
BEL was subcontracted by Columbia Bithulithic Ltd to perform the underground works.
All of the work in this contract was completed “air-side” and required strict security screening for everyone. This was performed during days and evenings to a strictly enforced schedule. The airport now has additional apron space as well as a new glycol lagoon facility.
This work took place within drainages that empty into Howe Sound. A comprehensive sediment and drainage plan was developed and successfully managed with cooperation and input from several regional authorities.
